ABOUT ACADEMIA CESAR CHAVEZ
Academia Cesar Chavez (ACC) is a public, Pre-K through 8th grade charter school, founded in 2000 in St. Paul, MN. ACC is a community-based school offering a bilingual program tailored to meet the needs of individual students, readily accessible to families and equipped with the curricular and instructional tools necessary to ensure that students can achieve high standards. The school adopts an educational program that supports the goal of students becoming bilingual and biliterate and best practices. ACC serves a significant Emergent Bilingual students and Latino population and uses highly effective instructional strategies. POSITION PURPOSE
The IT Support Technician will provide technology support to staff and student devices and services. This position is responsible for resolving tech support tickets via the online helpdesk system, as well as an in-person helpdesk, with a focus on support and inventory.
Qualifications:
- AA or AS degree in Computer Science, Computer Support & Network Administration, Computer Information Technology, or in an IT-related field is required
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred, ideally with elementary and/or middle school-aged children
- Excellent interpersonal and human relation skills
- Culturally-responsive, able to work on a team and independently
- Functionally and technically competent in skills necessary for this position
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to students and staff in troubleshooting basic hardware, software, and network issues
- Coordinate all aspects of repair and maintenance for all school-administered devices o Analyze/troubleshoot issues
- Make simple hardware repairs in-house (replace keyboards, hard drives, etc)
- Work with appropriate vendors to create RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for off-site repairs
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating images for all ACC laptops and computer lab PCs
- Maintain a database of the organization’s hardware and software using online inventory systems
- Assist with in-classroom tech support as needed Meet with school leadership to coordinate long-range planning and purchasing
- Performs other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Excellent client service skills in a quick turn-around, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application and systems issues in client server or web-based software installations
- Understanding of device imaging process
- Demonstrated understanding and hands-on experience with troubleshooting Windows, MacOS, iOS, ChromeOS, and Android devices
- Demonstrated understanding of Google Workspace
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with hardware/software updates, Smartboard support, and networking/Wi-Fi support
