RECEPTIONIST
Guadalupe Alternative Programs (GAP) is a community-based education and social service agency serving at-risk individuals throughout the Twin Cities. GAP’s mission is to empower communities challenged by transition and poverty through education and enrichment opportunities, social and emotional support, and training that leads to employment. GAP serves children and youth at high-risk of school failure, and immigrants and refugees seeking to create a better life in this country.

The Receptionist performs customer service, clerical and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, and record-keeping.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Hospitality
- Answer incoming calls and route appropriately
- Greet and direct visitors
- Accept and route deliveries
- Monitor building and staff calendars
- Student Relations
- Provide translation and interpretive services as required
- Distribute and track student bus cards
- Coordinate locker assignments
- Assist with filling out forms and creating reports as necessary
- Assist with intake process as required
- Provide student support services as required
- ​​​​​​​Data Entry and records coordination
- Monitor and record student breakfast and lunch counts and enter into excel spreadsheet for internal monitoring.
- Ensure all GAP students have completed the Free and Reduced Lunch Program Screening Form and maintain forms for reference.
- ​​​​​​​Represent GAP professionally in every interaction
- Follow company policies, processes and documentation requirements
- Communicate constructively with coworkers, supervisors, vendors and customers
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others
- Accept change and strive to improve self and the company
- Act ethically and professionally in every interaction
- ​​​​​​​Perform other duties as needed to meet agency and staff needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 2+ years performing most of the abovementioned responsibilities
- Software: Basic to intermediate level MS office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Interpersonal: Must be able to interact with new students in a congenial and respectful manner
Preferred:
- Bilingual: Spanish, Hmong, Karen, Somali
