Description
Financial One Credit Union is seeking a Dealer Direct Manager for our Coon Rapids office. The position is responsible for underwriting and driving indirect loan growth as well as managing dealer relationships. Responsible for the development, evolution and oversight of the indirect lending program. Ensures that indirect lending policies and procedures are adhere to. Ensures compliance with state and federal lending laws. Oversees the development of risk management and mitigation tools and techniques for the indirect lending portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Build and enhance relationships with new and existing indirect dealers and other indirect dealerships.
- Develop, recommend, and report on departmental improvements.
- Underwrite all loan indirect and loan requests.
- Directly oversee the indirect lending program and all its operations.
- Maintain ongoing and strong relationships with new and existing dealers. Ensure that dealer questions or issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Coordinate marketing requirements with the marketing manager or marketing department to develop advertising and sales literature for indirect lending programs. Oversee the content of that material to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Introduce the credit union’s indirect lending program to dealers who do not currently participate in the program. Answer questions, resolve issues, and provide a process that facilitates a smooth transition between dealer and credit union.
- Maintain knowledge of competitors’ rates and terms and other trends relating to auto loans or indirect lending.
- Develop, implement, and maintain system tools to track and analyze indirect lending programs. Provide reports to members of the senior management team and/or Board of Directors.
- Serve as a backup to the Lending Manager and CLO
- Process, underwrite and disburse both direct and indirect consumer loans on a timely basis and within Credit Union policies procedures and guidelines. Recommend loan decisions and/or exceptions to the appropriate lending officer when the loan is not within the lending authority of this position.
- Represent and promote the credit union at external functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, bachelors degree in relevant field preferred
- 3 + years of loan underwriting experience
- Experience in managing loan portfolios
- Experience in creating and managing a department
- Experience in product development
- Knowledge of financial institution products, services and policies
- Knowledge of government regulations related to lending, collections, insurance and other related functions
- The ability to adapt and take advantage of changing and evolving technology
- The ability to identify and dissect problems, and provide appropriate solutions
- The ability to recognize and seize opportunities
