Position Purpose
This position provides broad-based communications and administrative services to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Serves as first point of contact for current and potential Council constituents
- Coordinates Council communications and social media
- Administers core Council services, including reviews, events, and workshops
Responsibilities
Act as a first point of contact for Charities Review Council, providing phone and email support to diverse Council constituents. (30%)
- Provides daily customer service by phone, email (Outlook), and in person to donor, funder, and nonprofit partners
- Data entry, reporting and records maintenance in Salesforce, grants calendar, activity metrics and reports, in Excel and PowerPoint
- Process and follow-up with all networking contacts from sales activities, sales meetings, emails and phone calls
- Respond to / route inquiries received at info@smartgivers.org
- Print and mail donor acknowledgements
- Take and distribute notes in Microsoft Word from team meetings and other events as requested
- Contacts, connects and converts prospective agencies to constituents as requested
- Conduct preliminary research on prospective agencies
- Mail distribution and office maintenance
Coordinates Council communications and social media (30%)
- Coordinate production calendar for e-newsletter, newsletter, blog and social media
- Leads production of biannual newsletter (writing and/or gathering content, managing to deadlines, partnering with vendors, publication, tracking of metrics)
- Sends Meets Standards® postcards upon successful completion of the Accountability Standards®
- Draft updates, correspondence, thank-you letters, certificates, reports, and other documents using Microsoft Office products
- Website management and updates in WordPress
- Social media planning and posting using Buffer
- Opportunity to participate in presentations at sector conferences, workshops and trainings
Administer core Council services, including reviews, events, and workshops (30%)
- Conduct reviews
- Review and provide recommendations on nonprofit policies, practices and procedures to ensure alignment with Charities Review Council’s 25 Accountability Standards®
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to nonprofits as they complete the online Accountability Wizard® nonprofit review process.
- Ensure effective execution of events and workshops
- Leads administrative aspects of external events (Eventbrite registration pages, Calendly, webinar scheduling and promotion)
- Communicate with vendors (event-specific consultants, printers, venues, etc.)
- Coordinate onsite logistics, ensuring a positive participant experience
Other (10%)
- Participate as an active member of the Council’s team in efforts related to charitable donations, volunteerism, advocacy and community outreach
- Utilize cultural competency while working internally (staff and volunteers) and with the public (donors and nonprofits)

Qualified Candidates Will…
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates Degree coupled with 3 + years administrative success
- Hold a strong interest in nonprofit sector and engaging with constituents with diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Experience working in a diverse workplace and ability to utilize cultural competence
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Tech savvy is a must. Preferred experience with website maintenance (Wordpress), CRM databases (Salesforce), social media management (Buffer), Multi-line telephones, or online project management software (Trello)
- Pay attention to details, manage daily tasks, follow deadlines, prioritize daily tasks, and take initiative
Benefits: Medical stipend, 403b match, Paid-time-off, free parking and other benefits
Salary: Non-Exempt salary range $30,000 - $35,000
