The literacy coach will coach teachers at ACC in literacy and/or mathematics, collaborate with principal and instructional leadership team, and help plan and/or deliver professional development.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversee PLC learning teams in a grade-level band
- Lead one or more of the instructional teams that are composed of teachers and instructional coaches
- Meet with grade-level teams to analyze the data from major assessments throughout the year
- Work with teachers to direct all lessons specifically to the needs of multilingual learners
- Observe and give feedback to as many as fifteen teachers in a week.
- Coach teachers around the individual growth goals either weekly or bi-monthly
- Plan instruction, create assessments, revise scope and sequence documents, and reflect on student data during grade-level meetings as needed
- Model and co-teach with teachers as needed to support growth goals
- Encourage on-going professional growth for licensed staff
Position Qualifications
- A minimum of four years teaching experience
- Possess a current Minnesota license in education
- Knowledgeable in administering, interpreting, reporting and applying data to instruction and decision making
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
- Experience observing and giving feedback to others
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Experience working with diverse student and family populations
- Experience working with multilingual learners
