Position Purpose:
The Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing and executing LFL’s partnership strategy, with the goal of securing significant financial support from businesses and corporations. The Partnerships Manager is a highly visible position, responsible for soliciting and strengthening relationships with existing corporate partners and identifying potential partnership opportunities for sponsorship and programmatic support. Strong emphasis will be placed on the oversight and intentional growth of the corporate portfolio and successfully securing annual support for LFL’s programs, to ensure goals are met for both LFL and our corporate partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver annual partnership revenue goals, including corporate sponsorships
- Develop and implement strategies to raise Little Free Library’s profile with prospective partners
- Actively prospect for new relationships and manage a pipeline of prospects, proposals, and opportunities; track and manage inbound inquiries from prospects in CRM
- Create innovative proposals that align with prospects’ and Little Free Library’s goals
- Coordinate, shepherd, and execute tasks required for partnerships within agreed upon budgets, timelines, and quality standards
- Work with LFL Marketing team to develop collateral materials and other tools to help potential partners understand LFL and our programs
- Attend various events, conferences, and conventions to share Little Free Library’s partnership, strategic, and/or revenue goals with potential partners
- Identify, in coordination with LFL Programs team, new opportunities to create fundable partnerships, activities, or events
- Steward existing partners to encourage future transactions
- Provide regular reporting as necessary to keep the Little Free Library team apprised of all existing and potential resource commitments to deliver on pipeline opportunities
- Represent Little Free Library at public and partner events
- Manage, in coordination with Senior Director of Advancement and Executive Director, partnerships that have ongoing, long-term agreements
- Proactively work to assure positive and effective team functioning; facilitate open and clear communication among team members

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience in sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is valued
- At least three years of frontline fundraising, business development, and/or sales experience with strong communication skills and ability to present information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences; nonprofit experience preferred
- Ability to identify and pursue new partnership opportunities; knowledge of or interest in learning the national partnership/corporate sponsorship landscape
- Ability to think strategically and to create, execute, and evaluate partnership revenue generation plans
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to close
- An entrepreneurial approach to work; willing to take responsible risks to improve performance and take a hands-on approach to execution
- Detail-oriented and highly organized individual; able to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with a variety of technology platforms including but not limited to Google Apps, Asana, and Salesforce or another CRM
Additional Details:
- 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, typically 8:30am-4:30pm (CT) with the possibility of some evening and/or weekend hours
- Occasional travel for organization events/activities may be necessary
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle for local travel required
- Physical requirements are those of a typical office setting
- This position is in-person, based in LFL’s St. Paul, MN office. This position will work three days a week at the LFL office and two days a week at home (this is subject to change).
Compensation and Benefits:
- $65,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience
- Little Free Library provides a robust package of benefits including paid vacation, medical coverage, 13 paid holidays, paid service days, and a retirement plan
