Purpose of Position
The Content Coordinator is an exciting, new full-time position that supports various aspects of communications and social media execution for Little Free Library. The Content Coordinator will create digital communications, graphics, and videos that advance organizational brand awareness and increase stakeholder engagement. They will serve as an integral part of the marketing and communications team, working to ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and productivity are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit various types of content, including blog posts and electronic newsletters
- Develop video and digital graphics for use on social media and beyond
- Create and schedule content across various social media platforms
- Develop content and administer a thriving Facebook group to ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all members.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media and other marketing campaigns
- Coordinate and execute day-to-day activities on key Little Free Library marketing deliverables
- Provide communications support for program initiatives and special projects
- Provide administrative support to marketing and communications staff
- Execute other marketing and communications activities as needed
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and editing skills
- Experience using multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Facebook Groups, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok
- Expertise creating innovative and engaging digital content, including videos and graphic elements; experience in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Previous experience creating and editing videos for social media and web use strongly preferred
- Comfort using email marketing software such as MailChimp or similar
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products and Google suite, and have the technical aptitude to learn Salesforce or other online platforms
- Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward work
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Personable and adaptable to workload demands and requests
- Passionate about literacy and being part of an organization working to address it
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to work in a matrixed, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience working in a complex nonprofit organization is a plus
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, nonprofits, or another related field preferred
Additional Expectations:
- Occasional travel for organization events/activities may be necessary
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
